PCOS support

Once your PCOS resolves, fertility will come naturally. Yes, you CAN resolve PCOS! I’ve seen it many times. The most common homeopathic (natural, safe) remedies I use for PCOS are:
SEPIA: this helps women with acne on the chin or jawline. They may love or hate pickles, and crave chocolate before their periods and have irritability before their cycles.
PULSATILLA: this remedy helps women with acne on the cheeks that tends to scar poorly. They may have hairs on their chin or upper lip. They tend to be irritable before their cycles also but more sensitive and weepy. They like fatty greasy food like fried chicken but it tends to cause them digestive issues like diarrhea or upset stomach.

Fertile Forty’s

Many women come to me concerned that they will have a decline in fertility with age. What generally happens is that our health declines with age, and therefore the health of our eggs and reproductive tract declines as well. Did you know that “a woman’s odd of conceiving within one year of trying from age 35 to 40 is only about 7%-8% less that that of a woman aged 27-30? PMS–the new normal?

Did you know that PMS is not normal? I tell this to many women and they sound surprised! But, it’s not normal to have this. Women of childbearing age should get their menses for a few days each month, and that’s it! Food cravings, breast tenderness, irritability… all these are signs that there is a hormonal imbalance. This imbalance sets women up for other issues, like PCOS, infertility, endometriosis, and more.

Three Tips for a Meaningful Month–women’s health 2

Kick the habit—caffeine that is. Caffeine lowers levels of progesterone, the pro-gestational hormone. This means that there’s relatively more estrogen floating around, and that’s a recipe for PMS. Women who drink coffee are more prone to fibrocystic breasts, a benign condition characterized by ropy bands of tissue along the underwire line. Often I could tell during a physical exam how much coffee a woman drank. Caffeine also lowers B vitamins, essential for energy (ironically) and mood support. It also has a significant negative impact on fertility. What’s a woman to do? Try switching to decaf, or to alternative roasted beverages like Dandiblend or teechino. Dandiblend’s use of dandelion helps detoxification and caffeine withdraw at the same time.
